A Reasonable Assumption
Many Thanks to Ken Hamric for sharing this video clip and nicely summing up the climactic play of the Bronze Medal Match in Open Doubles Net at the 2007 WFC. Here is his footage and in his words…
“I have posted one clip from the match between Alexis/Bob and Jaakko/Jani to determine the 3rd place team. Alexis is serving to win the 3rd place title, blocks the Finn team for what he assumes (a reasonable assumption, one would think) is the point and the win, but the block gets dug and sent back over his head. Great athletic play from both teams, and a great match!”
This was the craziest moment I have ever witnessed on Finals day. Keep your head up Alexis cause that was a sweet play! I would have done the same thing myself! Congrats to Finland on the Bronze! SUOMI has arrived!
