Welcome To The Show
It’s Championship Monday at The Green Cup! Come join us for the party.
The highlights of day two are as follows and Championship Monday is now all set up.
Cote takes the bronze! He saw match point but did not convert losing game 3 of the Open Singles Semi-Final to Florian Goetze, the Worlds No #2 player, 16-14.
So the final is set for Open Singles and Mixed Doubles. In singles Emmanuel defeated Yves in 2 sets and Florian beat Martin Cote in 3 sets. That means we’ll see a rematch of the Singles Championship match at Worlds this past summer here at the GC today. Emmanuel, from Montreal, will be trying for his 2nd GC Singles title while Florian, from Germany, will by trying to capture his first.
In mixed doubles the defending World Champions will face the defending Green Cup Champions - Lisa McDaniel and Florian Goetze against Jody Welch and PT Lovern.
There were no major upsets in Open Doubles as the top 4 seeds advanced to Championship Monday. We start our day at high noon with the current two time defending World Champions - Florian Goetze and Patrick Schrickel, Chaos #8, facing the team that took 4th place at the WFC this year - Bob Lavigne, of Montreal Quebec, and Alexis Deschenes, Chaos #17.
Emmanuel Bouchard and Chaos #3, PT Lovern, will meet defending Green Cup Champions Chaos #4 & #5, John Leys and Eric Wulff, in Semi Final no. 2 scheduled for 1pm. PT won the Green Cup with Johnny in 2005 and Emmanuel with Patrick Schrickel in 2006.
At least one player will raise the cup for their second time and J4 is looking to become the first player to drink from the cup a 3rd time. No team nor player has yet to defend the cup in the 4 year history of the event.
Check out the Green Cup page for more info about the event. DJ, beer, margaritas, and tri-tips on the grill. Bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs and Have a Happy Green Cup Monday!
